I'm in Canada, so college is not free but it's still affordable :) There was actually a huge mayhem last year because the government wanted to raise the tuition fees, and I ended up losing a year.. If it were not for the strike, I would be putting the finishing touhes on my senior movie as we speak and I'd be graduation in a few months!

Well, I am in Canada to, but in the west, where everything is expensive like hell :nirvana:

I was wondering if it was better over there :aww: I saw the news about the strikes. Are all your classes in french, or is it possible to study in English? and do you need to be born in Quebec to get cheap tuition? or not?

Yep all my classes are in French :) There are some English cegeps and universities in Quebec though. My sister goes to McGill and it's all in English. But there is only one animation program in Quebec and it's in French.
I don't have exact numbers, but I know for students born in Quebec it's the cheapest tuition, for other Canadians it's just a little bit pricier, and for international students it's the full price, i.e hella expensive ^^;
But the tuition is not really all that less cheaper here than in the west, it's a little bit cheaper but not by much. Also to be fair, it only is this cheap because students here are ready to go all out so it stays that way - if the students in the west did the same, the tuition would drop there too :) That being said, I was personally not ready to lose a year for the cause, it was quite the steep sacrifice for me...

Well, here students are very divided. There isn't a sense of identity. So, it is very hard to get organized :nod:

Thanks for the info :aww:
